Transfer to hotel. After a short rest to freshen-up we will do a sight -seeing tour of Ulaanbaatar, focusing on such significant cultural sites as Gandan Buddhist Monastery, the Zanzabar Fine Arts Museum, which holds the finest collection of\u00a0<em>thangka<\/em>\u00a0paintings, carvings and sculptures in Mongolia.\u00a0<br \/>The Chojin Lama temple will be visited, the location of which clearly illustrates the great contrast between the old and the new in Mongolia.<br \/>Lunch will be enjoyed in a nearby Mongolian restaurant with traditional cuisine.\u00a0<br \/>In the afternoon, the Winter Palace of the last Bogd Khan will be visited which houses some very interesting cultural and religious artifacts.\u00a0<br \/>To get a panoramic overview of the city, we may visit the Great Buddha statue and memorial at Zaisan. In the evening at dinner we will enjoy a typical folkloric Mongol performance (songs and dances). We will overnight at a 4* hotel.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Day 2<\/td>\r\n<td><strong>Fly to Olgii and Drive to Blue Goat Nat. Park<\/strong><br \/>Transfer to the airport. Domestic flight (3hrs) to Bayan-Olgii. On arrival meet by local Kazakh guide. Drive to town. After lunch, drive towards south (5-6 hrs) about 200km. We will have view to the beautiful and remote country. We visit one of the local Kazakh nomadic families and stay there for few days. Overnight in ger with family. (BLD)<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Day 3-5<\/td>\r\n<td><strong>\u00a0Go to Festival with Eagle hunters on horseback<\/strong><br \/>Riding the Mongolian small but tough horses, you go side by side with eagle hunter to hunt fox, rabbit, wild cat and may be wolf. So you have chance to have part in this unique hunting of Altai Kazakh people. Have picnic lunch on the mountain and enjoy remote mountain country. You can try to hold the golden eagle on your hand and shoot some photos. Overnights in ger with family. (BLD)<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Day 6-7<\/td>\r\n<td><strong>Eagle Festival<\/strong><br \/>Meet the Kazakh Eagle hunters. The rodeo of eagle hunting. A fantastic opportunity for photographers and adventurers alike to see these magnificent birds up close. There are approx. 400 eagle hunters in Bayan-Olgii aimag. Eagle hunters from around regions gather to test their finely trained birds in singular contests of speed and agility in these few days. During the festival we also see some Kazakh Traditional Horse Games like \u201cBushKushi&#8221; (Try to take out from each other the goat skin on horseback), &#8220;Kiss woman on horseback&#8221;, &#8220;Pick up coins from the land on horseback&#8221; and others. In the evening we enjoy to have the Kazakh Concert with some traditional songs and music. On second day, in the evening drive towards Altai Tavan Bogd and reach Potanin Glacier. Overnights in ger with family. (BLD)<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Day 8<\/td>\r\n<td><strong>Day 8. Explore Altai Tavan Bogd<\/strong><br \/>Bayan-Olgii is rich in archaeological remains, as a reminder of the Bronze Ages and the time of the Huns and Turkic invasions. At Shiveet Hairhan Mountain, where numerous Tuvan nomads live, in Altai Tavanbogd National Park, we will pitch our camp. Shiveet Hairhan is sacred for these local people, why no hunting here. Trek for 11 kms toward the base camp of the snow-capped Tavanbogd massif. We will walk about 20km along Potanina glacier \u2013 the biggest of the twenty glaciers in Mongolian Altai. Tavanbogd means \u201cThe Holy Five&#8221;, referring to the five highest peaks, of which Huiten Uul is the highest in Mongolia, 4374 meters above sea level. Quite a considerable height at this altitude. It is a stunning setting with the awe-inspiring massif of high snow-capped peaks. In the evening walk down and stay with family or in tent near cars. (BLD)<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Day 9<\/td>\r\n<td><strong>\u00a0Drive to Olgii<\/strong><br \/>Drive 5-6 hours and come to Olgii. Visit the local museum of Olgii town with its comprehensive information on Altai flora and fauna of Bayan-Olgii aimag as well as colourful traditional costumes. In the evening, enjoy a Kazakh Concert during dinner. Overnight at hotel\/gercamp. It is not unheard of for people to feel a little travel sick, so if you are prone to this, remember to bring your tablets and feel free to ask your guide\/driver to stop as frequently as you wish.<\/li>\n<li>Guide:<br \/>\nAn English speaking Mongolian guide will accompany the group at all times. The guide will be a native Mongolian person with great local knowledge who can deal with any requests and ensure that your holiday to become one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life.<\/li>\n<li>Occupancy: Single $220<br \/>\nYou can stay in a single, twin or double room\/ger\/tent (where applicable). Single occupancy may not be possible during the Naadam festival (July 5th -15th) at ger camps. At community-based camps and ger homestays, single occupancy is subject to availability. Single and twin\/double occupancy at ger camps require an extra supplement.<\/li>\n<li>The best time to make this trip<br \/>\nMay to September is the best season, with the peak season in July for the Naadam Festival. July and August are also the wettest months of the year, but be assured, our climate is such that you will still have many sunny days at this time.<\/li>\n<li>Accommodation:<br \/>\nWe believe that comfortable, welcoming accommodation is vital to the enjoyment of your trip. You will be stay in a standard 3-4 star hotel in Ulaanbaatar and a tourist ger camp (traditional dwelling) with currency (220V), shower and other useful services (2 to 4 people per ger) in the countryside. All accommodation offered by Blue Wolf is personally checked by our staff to ensure high standards.<br \/>\n\u200b<\/li>\n<li>Meals:<br \/>\nIn Ulaanbaatar, you will be dining at fine European and Asian cuisine restaurants. Mutton, beef, rice and noodles form the basis of the Mongolian diet, so your meals will be based around this. However, the trail rations may include vegetables, eggs, peanut butter, cheese and sometimes yak! On some days there will be lunchboxes from tourist camps. It is good food and our experience has been that guests are happy with this arrangement. Please let us know in advance if you are a vegetarian. Alcohol is not provided on the trip but tourists are free to bring their own.<\/li>\n<li>Transport:<br \/>\nWe use the highest level, most comfortable, air-conditioned private vans or 4WD vehicles for the maximum comfort on your touring days.
